Acquisition of entrepreneurial skills that can serve as side-hustle for girls in the world economy, takes preeminence for the ninth day at the ongoing two weeks Bemore summer bootcamp, holding at Mabest Academy Akure, the Ondo State capital.

As part of efforts to equip girls with the necessary knowledge on how to be financially independent as they grow up to become mothers, the initiator of the BeMore Empowered Foundation and First Lady of Ondo State, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, incorporated acquisition of money-making skills into the curriculum of the summer bootcamp, which has as its main objectives, promotion of ICT skill and renewable energy.

Today featured how to bake fish pie and deep-fried dough, popularly called PUFF-PUFF; they continued with lessons on cake baking, wigs making, face makeover and tying of headgear.
Earlier on, after their routinal morning physical and mental exercise, they started classroom session with Coding with mblock, which they’ve been introduced to the previous day under ICT Class.

They progressed to the use of the mblock to build calculator and also used word document to prepare their camp experiences, an assignment they’d been given a day prior which they first scribbled on a foolscap sheet before transferring it to the computer.
The ICT class, which lasted for hours, also covered lessons on graphic design and creating a game with Scratch.

Under the renewable energy class, they were taught the essence of setting goals for their lives and were made to draw their Vision Boards, including a renowned personality they’d want to be like.

The ninth day camping activities closed with music class in preparation for the closing ceremony.
