The Ondo State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation following the discovery of the mutilated body of an unidentified woman along Barracks Road, near the GRA Roundabout in Ondo, Ondo State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command DSP JIMOH ABAYOMI, on Monday, July 13, 2026, at about 9:40 a.m., the command received a report regarding the presence of a lifeless body at the location. Acting swiftly on the report, a team of police operatives were immediately deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the officers discovered the headless body of a female victim. Preliminary observations revealed that several parts of the body had been mutilated. Investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, identity of the deceased, apprehend those responsible and establish the motive behind the gruesome act.
The Ondo State Police Command condemns this barbaric act and assures the public that no effort will be spared in bringing the perpetrators to justice. Members of the public who may have useful information that could assist the investigation are urged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Command through its emergency lines.
The area remains calm and adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of residents while investigations continue.
