..party registers 84 Support groups ahead of 2027, vows 1m votes
Owing to the recent political crisis rocking the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the state party chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, has said the party is satisfied with the outcome of the primary election, describing it as one that reflects the interest of the President.
Babatunde, who made this known while addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Akure on Friday, noted that every leader has the power to retain loyal and useful subordinates, adding that this was what played out during the primary election, which reflected President Bola Tinubu’s desire to have the National Assembly members returned.
The APC chairman also disclosed that no fewer than 84 support groups have registered with the party in the state, underscoring the resolve of party members to work together for the re-election of the President.
He added that the aggrieved members have the right to express their dissatisfaction, as there is freedom of speech, but stressed that their opinions do not represent the party’s position.
He also expressed commitment to uniting party members, including resolving the ongoing crisis in the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Babatunde further assured that the party is ready to deliver one million votes for the re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
