Members of the Irekari Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Committee have lauded Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving the rehabilitation of the Oba–Ikun–Afo–Idoani Road project, describing the development as a major relief for residents of the affected communities.
Speaking on behalf of the committee members, the Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Ajimuda, expressed appreciation to the governor for responding to the long-standing infrastructural needs of the people.
He said the approval of the project demonstrates the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents across the state.
Ajimuda noted that the road project is of immense importance to the people of Irekari communities, many of whom have endured years of hardship due to the deplorable condition of the road.
According to him, the poor state of the route has negatively affected transportation, economic activities, and access to essential services.
He stated that residents have consistently appealed for government intervention, stressing that the rehabilitation of the road would significantly improve connectivity among the communities and enhance socio-economic development in the area.
The committee secretary further observed that the governor’s approval of the project has strengthened public confidence in his administration, adding that the move reflects the government’s determination to address critical infrastructure challenges and improve the quality of life of the people.
Ajimuda said the road rehabilitation has given greater meaning to the administration’s popular slogan, “O Datiwa, O Dirorun,” noting that the project serves as a practical demonstration of the governor’s promise to make life easier for the people of Ondo State.
He assured the governor of the continued support and appreciation of the Irekari communities for the intervention.
