The Nigeria Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has said the All Progressive Congress, APC, is the only party that has ever prioritised job creation for young people.

According to him, the efforts of the current administration under the leadership of President Muhammad Buhari to tackle unemployment rate through Npower project deserves re-election.
Osinbajo who stated this during an interactive moment with some journalism students of the National Broadcast Academy, Ikeja, Lagos at the weekend, said 1.5million Nigerian youths are beneciaries of the Npower project with each entitled to a Tablet training tool.
Asked why the students should vote APC during the February 16th Presidential election, Osinbajo said, “The simple reason why you ought to vote for APC is that it is the first government that will take seriously, job creation for the young people.

“We have also started the entrepreneur bank which is a bank for giving young people credit to start businesses”.

The Vice-President who affirmed that Tradermoni initiative gets to the intended beneciaries, however condemned the impression in some quarters that it is a vote buying strategy by APC government.
He particular described the comment of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki as shameful and dishonourable for referring to the programme as a vote buying process.
His words: “Mostly the money gets to the intended beneciaries; some are saying it is a vote buying strategy especially the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, it is nonsense and a shame for him to say that.
“It is dishonourable, because the National Assembly approved Tradermoni as part of our Social Investment Programme, but we couldn’t start it in time because they delayed the bugdet, we only start implementing it in August 2018, and they have defected to other party then.
“Besides, it is not a gift, it is Bank of Industry that organises it, and gives N10,000 to the bottom of the pyramid traders. BOI pays into their phones and once they pay back in the next six months, they get N15,000 all the way up to N100,000”.
Speaking on the security measures to ensure free and fair election, Osinbajo informed that the President has assured of zero tolerance for violence.
He added that every of the nation’s security agency is already at alert and INEC as an independent organisation is saddled with the responsibility to assure that figures are not faked.
