The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredeolu, SAN has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards providing functional and qualitative healthcare services to the good people of Ondo state.

The State Governor who said was ably represented by Special Adviser on Health matters, Prof. Francis Faduyile during his on the spot assessment of medical personnel and infrastructures therein at Medical complex and Ondo complex respectively of UNIMED Teaching Hospital Ondo State.


Faduyile opined that, strengthening of health system in the changing world bears the focus of this present administration through provision of affordable and qualitative medical services to the people of our sunshine state in accordance with the REDEEMED agenda of this government. He added that, welfare of medical and health related workers in the sector would continue to be the top priority of Akeredolu led administration.


Prof. Francis Faduyile explained that medical infrastructures on ground at the Teaching Hospital are massive enough to take care of gamut of medical cases and challenges facing our people for a Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Ondo State if properly utilized by the managers of the health facilities.


He however charged the managers of those equipments to maintain them very well so as to last longer, save government cost and to servicing general public in that direction.

He said government would not rest on their hoarse towards procuring more required infrastructures for qualitative improved health services delivery to Ondo State.


The Special Adviser on Health matters described the essence of assessment tour as an eye opener to evaluate baseline information and infrastructures on ground for critical stakeholders’ engagement on the subject matter and to proffer enduring solutions.

He added that the information gathered would assist state government towards updating the State’s health policy for tremendous progress achievements.


According to him during his observations tour, he said staffs of the Teaching Hospital were well enthusiastic; also patients’ testimonies about their good conducts were overwhelming. He advised them to build on it for optimal effective service delivery.


Earlier, the Chief Medical Director Dr. Oluwole Ige has expressed his delight about the whole exercise, saying that the visit is good omen that would bring in more growth and developments to our UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Ondo Sate.
