The only female lawmaker in the ninth Ondo State House of Assembly, Mrs. Favour Tomomewo, has said she is not displeased for not being appointed as an officer out of the 11 principal offices in the House.


The lawmaker representing llaje constituency 2 said all the positions occupied by male lawmakers alone are regarded as a starting point that should not cause disagreement among the legislators in the discharge of their legislative duty.


She explained that her constituents full representation and quality projects that will enhance their lives and other aspects of life.


Her words: ” God gives power. It is my believe that everyone’s time will come. It might not be a good time for women’s representation but it is my belief that we are just starting.


“It is my hope that there are a lot of positions women can be fixed in for the benefit of women fold”.


She repledged her commitment to be a good representative of women fold in the state in general.

Meanwhile, JATS Communications gathers that she wasn’t appointed a principal officer because Hon Abayomi Akinrutan who was made the House Parliamentary Secretary happens to senior her in Politics from the Southern Senatorial district where they both come from.

The source explained that although it was of the interest of the governor to give her a principal office being the only woman in the House, doing so may however cause chaos among party members as two principal officers cannot emerge from her area.

According to the source, she would definitely be given a juicy Committee Chairman in the House.
