The Chairperson of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo State chapter, Mrs. Doris Olumoko today escaped death after she was involved in a ghastly auto accident in Akure.
Mrs. Olumoko, was on an official assignment to the government House for the update of Coronavirus case in the state when the unfortunate incident happened along Igbatoro road.
Though, the Toyota Corolla she was driving was badly damaged, the NAWOJ Chairman is hale and healthy.

Journalists are at the forefront of reporting updates of the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in their immediate environment due to the importance of their profession in the society.
Unlike their counterparts in the Western countries who were recognised as part of the essential workers that deserve special welfare package in a period like this, Nigerian journalists are on duty despite the stay-at-home directive but without special package.

Mrs. Olumoko’s car, has been taken to a mechanical workshop.
