The Ondo State Government has called on residents, indigenes at home and in the diaspora, as well as friends and admirers of the state, to embrace and promote the state anthem as a symbol of collective identity, unity and cultural heritage.
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, made the call in a statement, urging the people to take ownership of the initiative and make the anthem an integral part of their daily lives.
The government said the anthem represents more than a patriotic composition, describing it as a reflection of the state’s shared history, cherished values, cultural identity and collective aspirations.
As part of efforts to promote wider awareness of the anthem, the government encouraged residents to set it as their Caller Ring Back Tune (CRBT), allowing friends, associates and callers across different locations to listen to it.
Interested members of the public are required to dial *309*2512# to subscribe to the service.
The government also urged corporate organisations, public institutions, traditional institutions, religious bodies, youth organisations, students and other stakeholders to support the initiative and encourage wider participation.
Ajanaku stressed that promoting the anthem was a collective responsibility and an opportunity for every son and daughter of the state to showcase its rich cultural heritage, uniqueness and identity.
He added that the initiative was aimed at preserving the state’s heritage and promoting the values that distinguish Ondo State.
“As a people, we must continually celebrate our roots, preserve our heritage and promote the values that distinguish Ondo State.
“Let the sound of our anthem become a unifying expression of our identity and a reminder of the pride we share as people of the Sunshine State”, he said.
