The Ondo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the revered elder statesman, educationist and leader of Afenifere, who died at the age of 100.

Pa Fasoranti’s passing marks the end of an extraordinary chapter in the history of Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria. His life, spanning a century, was distinguished by service, discipline, principled leadership and an enduring commitment to the welfare and progress of society.

As an educationist, public administrator and respected voice in national affairs, Pa Fasoranti made significant contributions to the development of Ondo State and Nigeria. His service as a Commissioner for Finance in the old Ondo State, alongside his longstanding leadership of Afenifere, reflected his dedication to public service and his conviction in the principles of justice, good governance and social progress.

For the Ondo State Chapter of NIPR, his passing is a profound loss, not only because of his stature as an elder statesman but also because of the enduring lessons his life offers in integrity, responsible leadership, public accountability and service to humanity. His legacy reminds us that true leadership is measured not merely by the positions occupied, but by the values upheld and the lives touched.

At a time when society needs principled leadership, credible public communication and a renewed commitment to the common good, the life and example of Pa Fasoranti remain instructive. His memory will continue to inspire generations to uphold truth, demonstrate courage in the face of adversity and place the collective interest above personal considerations.

The Chairman, Executive Committee and entire membership of the Ondo State Chapter of NIPR extend their heartfelt condolences to the Fasoranti family, the leadership and members of Afenifere, the people of Akure Kingdom, the government and people of Ondo State, and all Nigerians mourning this monumental loss.

We pray that Almighty God grants the family and all those affected by this loss the strength to bear this irreparable departure. May the memory of Pa Fasoranti’s remarkable life continue to inspire a commitment to service, integrity and the advancement of society.
