The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA), Hon. Femi Adekanmbi PhD, has celebrated the life and legacies of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, who passed on at the age of 100.

In a statement personally signed by him, Adekanmbi described the late Afenifere leader as a rare patriot, a towering statesman, and a fearless defender of truth, justice and the Yoruba cause.

He said Pa Fasoranti was not just an elder statesman but an institution whose life symbolised courage, discipline, integrity and unwavering commitment to the ideals of true federalism and good governance.

“Pa Fasoranti lived an impactful and fulfilled life. He was a father to all, a wise counsellor, and a voice of conscience who never shied away from speaking truth to power. His contributions to the socio-political development of Ondo State, the Yoruba nation and Nigeria at large are immeasurable and will remain indelible in our history,” he said.

Adekanmbi noted that Baba’s leadership of Afenifere brought dignity, direction and moral strength to the organisation, adding that his footprints in education as a seasoned principal and his role in community development will never be forgotten.

He commiserated with the Fasoranti family, the leadership and members of Afenifere, and the government and people of Ondo State over the painful loss.

He prayed for the repose of Baba’s soul and asked God Almighty to grant his family and the entire Yoruba race the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
