The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has re-elected Rev’d Dr. John Ayo Oladapo as Chairman, Ondo Area I, for the next four years.

Rev’d Oladapo polled fifty (50) votes to emerge winner at the election held on Friday, 2nd October, 2026, at The Acts of Apostles Int’l Church Headquarters, Seebi, Akure.

His challenger, Rev’d Festus Olumofe, scored five (5) votes.

Also contested was the position of National Board Member I which saw Rev’d Wole Afolabi win with forty-four (44) votes as against ten (10) votes garnered by his rival, Apostle Peter Olaniyan.

All the remaining candidates were elected unopposed. They are, Pastor Peter Akinyelure, Vice Chairman I; Pastor Moses Ajayi, Vice Chairman II; Rev’d Isaac Olujobi, Treasurer and Deaconess Bolarinde Celina Ayomide, Financial Secretary.

Others are, Dr. Samson Bamikole Fajuyagbe, Auditor I; Lady Evangelist Christianah Akintokewa, Auditor II, Apostle Peter Olaniyan, National Board Member II; Rev’d Festus Olumofe, Youth Officer and Rev’d Matthew Oluwajana, Publicity Secretary.

The rest are, Apostle Prophet (Dr.) Z. B. Adeboriota, ex-officio I and Pastor Stephen Omatuyile, ex-officio II.

The Returning Officer for the election and General Secretary, Bible Society of Nigeria, BSN, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, who was represented by BSN Relation Officer, Mr. Godwin Odia, tasked the new leadership to work harder to justify the confidence reposed in them, emphasizing that their positions carry greater trust and responsibilities.

Apostle Prophet Adeboriota who is described as one of the founding fathers of BSN in Nigeria, challenged the new helsmen to take Ondo Area I to a greater height.

In his post inaugural address, Rev’d Dr. John Ayo Oladapo, who described his election as a renewed call to service, listed his major focus as, increased Bible distribution, doubling fundraising efforts, completion of the ongoing construction of Bible House and the aggressive membership drive among others.

A total of sixty-one (61) accredited delegates drawn from nineteen auxiliaries spread across Ondo State voted in the election.

Meanwhile, the Chairman has announced the appointment of some special advisers to strengthen effective and efficient performance.

They are, Elder David Adeyanju (Administration and General Duties); Bishop J.K. Opayinka, (Mobilization and Networking); Mother-In-Israel Fawole Wemino, (Resource Mobilization), and Mr. Dapo Daramola, (Media and Publicity).The appointments take immediate effect.
