..assures of more Federal projects in Ondo with Tinubu’s re-election

The City Boy Movement in Ondo State has said the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 will further strengthen the state’s access to federal development projects and programmes.

The State Director of the movement, Mr Oluwafemi Ayejusunle, stated this in Akure while inaugurating the newly elected state executive officers of the support group.

He said the movement had set a target of more than one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State in the 2027 presidential election.

Ayejusunle said the movement would mobilise support for Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates across the state, urging members to take the campaign for the President’s re-election to the grassroots.

He said the movement would deploy its structures across the state to engage residents and highlight the administration’s development initiatives ahead of the 2027 general election.

Ayejusunle said the movement would use the inauguration to intensify its grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Ayejusunle said the group would consolidate and strengthen its structure across the 18 local government areas, wards and polling units, while engaging youths, women and other grassroots stakeholders to build support for the President.

He said the movement would establish a strong presence in every ward, community and polling unit across the state while taking the Renewed Hope Agenda directly to the people.

Ayejusunle recalled that Ondo recorded the highest number of votes for President Tinubu in the South-West during the 2023 presidential election, but said the movement was determined to surpass the 2023 figure by mobilising more than one million votes for the President in 2027.

“In 2027, we must not only repeat that historic feat, we must surpass it with over one million votes. Ondo State is ready,” he said.

Ayejusunle said the movement would mobilise youths, women, traders, students and other grassroots groups while educating residents on the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.

He cited federal road projects, including the Ore-Ondo-Akure Road and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, NELFUND student loans, the NDDC power project and youth and MSME interventions as some of the programmes the movement would highlight during its grassroots engagement.

He also highlighted the role of the Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, an Ondo indigene and patron of the movement, in encouraging young Nigerians to participate in politics and national development.

The National Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, described the inauguration as another step towards strengthening the movement’s grassroots structure and expanding youth participation in politics.

Shoga said the organisation would continue to take the Renewed Hope message to communities and serve as a link between government and the people, urging the new executives to remain disciplined, committed and connected to their communities.

Shoga urged members of the newly inaugurated Ondo State executive to conduct themselves with discipline, integrity and commitment, stressing the need for them to make meaningful impact in their communities.

Also speaking, the APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, commended the Ondo chapter for demonstrating strength, preparedness and commitment to grassroots mobilisation.

Daramola particularly commended Olawande for encouraging young people seeking to participate in politics and praised the movement’s Grand Patron, Barrister Seyi Tinubu, for his involvement in youth mobilisation across the South-West.

APC State Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, said Tinubu had no visible opposition in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections, attributing the President’s growing acceptance to increasing confidence in his administration.

Kolawole said the City Boy Movement had also attracted growing interest from members and political actors across other parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He attributed the development to what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration in economic reforms, infrastructure, security and social intervention programmes.

“The overwhelming interest from people across different political affiliations underscores a unifying confidence in the leadership and vision of President Tinubu,” Kolawole said.

He however, warned members of the party against engaging in anti-party activities, saying there would be no room for disloyalty as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections, and said the party would not hesitate to take appropriate action against members found working against its interests.
