In celebration of the 2026 Children’s Day, Girls to Women Research and Development Center G2W , in collaboration with Impact Gate Development Foundation, IGDF, organized a special event for pupils of Emmanuel Primary School 1 & 2, Ikota, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The event, which came at the wake of the school abduction in Oyo state, featured prayers by the children and teachers for quick release of the abducted children by the terrorists.

The event was designed to celebrate children, inspire them to pursue their dreams, and provide educational support through the distribution of learning materials and gifts.

The event featured several engaging and educational activities, a quiz competition, where pupils demonstrated their academic abilities and knowledge lectures, and many more.

Outstanding participants emerged as winners and were rewarded with school bags while books and other itens were distributed to all participants as prizes to encourage excellence in education.

During the event, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Girls to Women Research and Development Centre G2W, Chief Olamide Falana, addressed the pupils. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of education, discipline, hard work, and prayer.
She specifically encouraged the children to pray for the safe and unconditional release of children who were recently kidnapped in Oyo State. She stressed the importance of showing compassion, unity, and concern for other children facing difficult circumstances.

The partner on the outreach and executive director of IGDF, Dr Adedara Adejoju equally admonished the children to be of good behaviour, to work hard and listen to their parents at all times.

The Children’s Day celebration at Emmanuel Primary School 1 & 2, Ikota, was a successful and impactful event that brought happiness, inspiration, and educational support to the pupils. Through engaging activities, motivational interactions, and the distribution of gifts, Girls to Women Research and Development Center and Impact Gate Development Foundation reaffirmed their dedication to promoting the welfare, development, and future aspirations of children.
The organizations remain committed to creating opportunities that empower children and encourage them to become responsible leaders and productive members of society.
