The Ondo State chapter of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle, Tricycle, Repairers and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) has declared its support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The association made the declaration on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Akure, where it also distributed free Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) valued at ₦4,000 each to over 1,000 commercial motorcycle riders as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support.

The fuel distribution exercise, which took place at Optimal Filling Station in Alagbaka, attracted a large turnout of riders. The queue extended to the main road as beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture.

Speaking with journalists, the State Chairman of ACOMORAN, Mr. Olumorin Akinlolu, described the initiative as a demonstration of the association’s commitment to Tinubu’s second-term bid. He stated that members were ready to deliver no fewer than 25,000 votes in support of the President.

Akinlolu urged Nigerians to remain patient with the administration, noting that ongoing reform policies are aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable development, which he said requires continuity.

He also commended the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his support towards the fuel distribution initiative.
On the recent directive restricting night operations of commercial motorcycle riders, the ACOMORAN chairman expressed concern, suggesting that the association is better positioned to regulate its members and address criminal infiltration within the sector.

The event culminated in a mass rally where hundreds of members of the association gathered at the secretariat of the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) in Akure, signaling a coordinated move by the union to align with the current administration.

The Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group in Ondo State, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, described the endorsement as a significant  political gain for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Also speaking, APC chieftain Demola Ijabiyi described the endorsement by ACOMORAN as a reflection of grassroots sentiment, noting that commercial riders represent a vital segment of everyday Nigerians.

“These are people who interact directly with the public on a daily basis. Their support indicates that many at the grassroots can see and feel the impact of governance,” he said.

Ijabiyi further addressed concerns over the fuel situation, attributing the crisis to global developments beyond the control of the Nigerian government, while expressing confidence that measures are being implemented to ease the burden on citizens.
