The Atunluse Initiatives has resolved to end its operation as a standalone organisation and join a political party, signalling a shift towards more direct participation in politics and governance in Ondo State and Nigeria.

The decision was reached at the caucus meeting of the organisation held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Friday, September 25, 2026, after extensive deliberations on the group’s future direction and political engagement.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the caucus said it would retain its existing structure from the ward level through the local government areas and across Ondo State after joining the political party.

The group, however, did not disclose the name of the political party it intends to join. Instead, it mandated its leadership to undertake “intensive and extensive consultations” over the next six weeks, after which the party would be formally unveiled.

The organisation also resolved to become more actively involved in the political process and bring its values, principles and ideology to bear on issues affecting the people.

According to the communiqué, Atunluse believes the time has come for it to become fully involved in politics and play a more active role in matters concerning the lives and wellbeing of the populace.

The group recalled its previous contributions to political development, noting that it had supported several politicians in their bids for political offices and positions.

It said its renewed political engagement would focus on changing the political narrative and promoting policies and actions aimed at improving the wellbeing, prosperity and happiness of the greater number of people in Ondo State and Nigeria.
