The Shola Ilesanmi Solutions Journalism Grant for Campus Journalists is now receiving applications from campus journalists across the country.
Applicants are required to pitch stories that solve social issues locally or nationally and, send to ilesanmisolutionsawards@gmail.com. Entries close at midnight on Wednesday April 19, 2023.
Shola Ilesanmi was an ‘unsung hero’ in journalism whose work impacted cub journalists across the country. He spent his entire career reporting on a wide range of social issues.
According to the Project Coordinator, Rahman Adekunle, winners will be selected by a panel of judges and will be based on literary merit, originality and readability. They will be announced at the maiden Shola Ilesanmi Story Clinic on April 20, 2023 at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ilesanmi’s alma mater.
The winners will be mentored by some international journalists for a period of one month to come up with impactful stories that will be published in national dailies.
