ARC-P: Go and transform your community, justify Govt’s investment- Mrs Akeredolu tells Facilitators

..as three weeks training for 600 Facilitators ends

Wife of the Governor of Ondo State, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has charged Facilitators of the At-Risk-Children Project, ARC-P, to utilize the knowledge and skills they acquired at the three weeks training for the transformation of their immediate community.

Mrs Akeredolu, who is the Chairperson of the State Advisory Committee of the ARC-P Programme, made this charge during the closing ceremony of the training of 600 youth Facilitators, held at the Government Technical College, Owo.

Congratulating them for the successful training programme, the Ondo First Lady, who commended their youthful energy which they showcased throughout the their stay in the camp, enjoined them to justify the monthly payment they’ll be receiving.

She further urged them to perform the duty expected of them as they go back to their various communities of assignment, to make use of database in order to produce good results.

“For any project to be measurable, it must be backed with data. The data you sent will be used to appraise you. We will see changes in your community if you perform your duty excellently. Go home in peace and do the needful and make your Governor proud”, she said.

She commended them for the presentation of samples of various skills they acquired during the three weeks training and encouraged them to transfer the knowledge to the vulnerable groups which was the essence of the programme, in order to further reduce poverty level of the state.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender and ARC-P Project Lead in Ondo State, Mrs. Olamide Falana, had informed that a total number of 600 youths have been equipped with knowledge in paralegal service, basic literacy and numeracy, Agriculture, security tips, child protection, digital skills, among others.

She described them as fully baked Facilitators who would be spread across all communities in the state to execute the goals of the ARC-P programme.

The At-Risk-Children Project, a poverty alleviation initiative of the Federal Government in collaboration with the State Government, targets out-of-school children and youths below 24 years old, and the trained Facilitators are saddled with the responsibility of identifying them for intervention.
