Nigeria signs Africa Disability Protocol

On the 13th of February, 2023, Nigerian government became a signatory to the Africa Disability Protocol.

During the signing ceremony, the Nigeria delegation was led by Ambassador Victor A. Adeleke who is the Nigeria Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Ethiopia and the Nigeria Representative to the AU.

He was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the commission, Mr Lalu Mangun.

It is the expection of the AU legal team that Nigeria will take leadership in the promotion of the treaty to be replicated in other African countries.

The next step is the ratification and disposition of the instrument at the AU Secretariat which the Executive Secretary assured the AU counsel that it will be a speedy process.
