Gov Akeredolu begins 4.7km Ifesanmi-Mobil-Ikare dualisation in Owo

..reiterates commitment to delivery of Life Changing Projects across the State

The Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has commenced work on the 4.7Kilometre Ifesanmi-Mobil-Ikare Akoko Junction dualisation road project in Owo.

The project was recently awarded by the State Executive Council.

Inspecting the project on Thursday, Governor Akeredolu stressed the importance of infrastructural upgrade to the socio-economic well-being of the people.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the delivery of several life-changing projects across the state.

Accompanied by the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr Raimi Aminu and a Consultant on State Road Project, Engr Remi Osiberu, Arakunrin Akeredolu explained that modernity has necessitated the need to dualise the road.

“Our government is embarking on road construction and expansion because modernity is catching up on us. You will find out that traffic in many areas are becoming chaotic here. From Mobil to Ikare junction, it is like a nerve centre that connects Akoko.

“So, we believe it is better for us to have dual-carriage way to link the place and then extend it to Ifesanmi junction here.

“It is just part of our commitment to improve the infrastructure in our numerous communities. Our works are there for everybody to see; you can see it in Ikare, you can see the Bypass in Okitipupa to Igbokoda, and we are going to commission that one in our First year anniversary. It is completed. You can see what we are doing in Ijoka, what we are doing in Oda, Idanre and all over the state and we thank God for it”, the Governor said.

Earlier, Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Raimi Aminu said upon completion, the road project would meet all the standards noted with road construction under the Akeredolu Administration including roads furnitures, lightning to be powered by the National Grid and Solar System.

Aminu appreciated Governor Akeredolu for delivering dual-carriage road projects in major towns and cities in the state.

“You can see that the contractor has moved to site immediately. The total length is 4.7 kilometers with 9.3 metres each of the carriage way, and with about 2 metre median walk-way central park.

“It is going to have all road furnitures and all that will make the road beautiful. By God’s grace, after completion there will be Street light to be powered by Solar or BEDC, Mr Governor is working on that. After completing this project, everybody will smile and appreciate Mr Governor.

“I want to appreciate Mr Governor and other cabinet members for approving this road project for this community.

“This is not the only project this government is doing. If you go to Ikare you will see dual-carriage road, if you go to Okitipupa you will see a bypass, if you go to Akure-Ijoka you will see about 8.3kilometres dual-carriage road.

“The Governor did promised that in his second term he is not going to rest on his oars, and as you can see other projects are coming on board soon”, Aminu added.
