Your focus on development of women, girls is encouraging, Olubaka tells Ondo First Lady wife opens ultra-modern Bakery

The First Lady of Ondo State and Ada OWERE 1, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has been commended for making the issues of women and girls her priority and centre of focus since she became the wife of the governor.

The Olubaka of Oka-Akoko land in Ondo State, His Royal Majesty Oba Adebori Adeleye, gave the commendation in his palace on Thursday, during the official commissioning of an ultra-modern Benjamin Bakery, an innovation of his wife, Olori Adejumoke Adeleye.

Commending the Ondo First Lady, who commissioned the Bakery, Oba Adeleye noted that her encouragement and determination towards the development of Women, in ensuring they are financially independent and support their families, is worthy of emulation.

The Monarch who hinted that, the decision of her wife to support the development of his kingdom with the venture, was her own way of following the steps of Her Excellency, saying: “You are here today because of your love for Ondo State and what you stand for to support whatever womenfolk stand for, we appreciate your coming”.

Charging men to support their wives, the Olubaka said he has decided to support the business ideas of her wife, having known that by so doing, he’s supporting himself and their family.

Responding, the Ondo First Lady appreciated the Monarch for recognising her modest efforts in raising women to be industrious in order to support their families and reduce financial burden on men.

She described Olori Adejumoke Adeleye as a workaholic like herself, a quality that made them blend in with each other, easily; “She’s amazingly resourceful, look at what she has thought of, investment that truly connects to the people because food is very important; she’s very innovative in her line of business”. She asserted.

Commissioning the Benjamin Bakery, Chief Mrs Akeredolu enjoined individuals to patronise and make it flourish in order to create room for employment of more hands in the community.

Earlier in her welcome address, Olori Adejumoke had disclosed that her desire to establish the Bakery, which she named after her late father, was to invest part of her business ventures in the community and provide employment to the youths and the womenfolk of Oka Akoko and its environment.

She said: “In addition, I also wish to complement and support the initiative of Her Excellency in my own little way so that the various advice of Her Excellency did not go down the drain, especially to me as an Olori in the palace of my Royal father and dear husband, the Olubaka of Oka Kingdom”.

Benjamin Bakery produces Sardine Bread, Wheat Bread, Fanta Bread, Vegetable Bread, Chocolate Bread, Coconut Bread, Ginger Bread, Milk Bread, Cakes and Pastries.

In attendance were the Olupe of Ipe-Akoko, members of the Forum of Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees (FOWOSO), and Hon. Gbenga Omole, who chaired the occasion and also lauded the kindheartedness of Ondo First Lady through her various life-impacting initiatives.
