Who God blesses, let no one curse, rather, let everyone works towards achieving individual’s goals in life. Looking at the antecedents of a personality in the position of authority, and taking into cognisance the literary meaning of his/her birth name is a pointer to the fact that he/she was destined to be great regardless of how many storms to be confronted on the road to greatness.

OLUWAROTIMI, a Yoruba name which literally means, “God Stands With Me”, seems to manifest in the circumstances surrounding the governor of Ondo State; it seems to have justified the Bible passage which says, “If God be with us, who can be against us?

The political propaganda, betrayal, character assassination that preceded the gubernatorial Primary election for the reelection of the governor made the political atmosphere to be tensed up; especially the defection of his deputy to the opposition party. The fact that OLUWAROTIMI’s kinsmen from Owo also rose against him in contest indicated that the battle would be tough this time around; but it turned out to be an easy landslide victory.

According to the general saying, “Behind every successful man, there is a woman”, OLUWAROTIMI’s marriage with BETTY-ANYANWU is symbolical. Starting from the birthday, both were born in July 20 and 21 respectively; a rare soulmate.

Coming to the July 20, 2020 which was the wife’s birthday coincided with the All Progressive Congress party’s Guber Primary, the platform through which OLUWAROTIMI was elected and where he is seeking reelection. The election ended on the midnight of July 20 and OLUWAROTIMI was declared winner at early hours of July 21st, his birthday. Is that not amazing?

Triple celebrations in Akeredolu’s camp. The results of the primary election didn’t even reflect all the political jigsaw and tension earlier posed. Aside the fact that four aspirants stepped down for OLUWAROTIMI late hours to the primary election, the “I MUST CONTEST AGAINST HIM” kinsmen recorded zero votes.

Nigerians, Ondo state indigenes in particular have taken to the social media to challenge this category of aspirants, asking why they decided to waste such huge amount of money which they could have used to assist the masses in this critical period of COVID-19 pandemic, knowing fully well that they don’t have political weight.

But such must happen to justify the Biblical sayings that “Man’s enemies are people of his own family”. Kudos to the Omoluabi-Owo delegates who said “Omo enikinburu titi kafifekun paje”, as they massively voted for their own OLUWAROTIMI.

According to the results, the two kinsmen of Akeredolu scored almost zero votes, as OLUWAROTIMI polled 2458 out of the total 2760 valid votes.

Below is the result table as announced by the primary election’s Returning Officer, His Excellency, Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.
