In News! ODIRS remits N12M Radio, TV Licensing fees to 18 LGs in Ondo State

Ondo State Internal Revenue Service, ODIRS today remitted the sum of N12million to the coffer of 18 Local government areas of the state today being revenues generated from Radio and Television Licensing.

The cheque was presented by the Executive Chairman of ODIRS, Mr. Tolu Adegbie to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Segun Odunsanya at the Ministry.

Adegbie noted that the development was as a result of the agency’s mandate to assist Local governments in collecting their revenues and disburse accordingly.

Presenting the cheque to the Permanent Secretary, the ODIRS’s boss noted that the amount was relatively lower as a result of paucity of funds due to the COVID-19 pandemic effect on general economy.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary who received on behalf of all the 18 local governments appreciated the Chairman and prayed that this global pandemic vanished in no time so as to enable ODIRS delve deeper into other aspects of revenue generation for the local governments and the state in general.

He appreciated the Chairman for continually striving to improve internally generated revenue despite all the challenges.
