A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Dr. Akinola Awodeyi-Akinsehinwa, has mourned the passing of elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, who died at the age of 100.

In a statement personally signed by him, Dr. Awodeyi-Akinsehinwa described the late Afenifere leader as a rare gem, a principled leader, and a father whose wisdom shaped the destiny of the Yoruba nation and Nigeria.

He said Pa Fasoranti lived an exemplary life of courage, integrity and selfless service, and remained a moral compass and voice of conscience till the very end.

“Pa Fasoranti’s death marks the end of an era. He was a towering figure whose commitment to true federalism, justice and Yoruba unity was unwavering”

“Nigeria and Ondo State in particular has lost a distinguished statesman whose counsel will be sorely missed,” he said.

Dr. Awodeyi-Akinsehinwa commiserated with the Fasoranti family, the leadership of Afenifere, the government and people of Ondo State, and the entire Yoruba race.

He noted that Baba’s legacies of honesty, discipline, education and community service will continue to inspire generations, and that his life remains a testament to the fact that true leadership is about service to humanity, not self.

He prayed that God will grant the soul of the departed elder statesman eternal rest and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
