The family of late veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Babatunde Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced the remaining programmes for his burial rites.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, on behalf of the family.

According to Kosoko, the family also expressed appreciation to fans, colleagues, friends, associates and well-wishers who attended Ogogo’s burial in large numbers on Monday, August 24, 2026.

He described the turnout as a demonstration of the love and respect for the late actor, adding that the family was grateful for the support received during the burial.

The family announced that the eighth-day Fidau prayer for the deceased would be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Ilaro, Ogun State.Kosoko urged Ogogo’s fans, friends, colleagues and other well-wishers to attend the prayer in large numbers to pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased and ask Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

The family also announced a 40-day Artists’ Day in honour of Ogogo at the Pavilion Hall, Ilaro.According to the statement, the event will feature performances and entertainment by actors, musicians, comedians, singers and other practitioners in the entertainment industry.

It said the event would serve as a celebration of Ogogo’s life, career and contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The family described the Artists’ Day as a fitting tribute to one of the industry’s icons, whose contributions would continue to be remembered.

The programme is expected to be coordinated by the Theatre and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).

The family prayed for Allah’s blessings on everyone who supported them during the burial and asked that their kindness would be rewarded abundantly.
