A public development expert, Mr. Martin-Mary Falana, has commended the philanthropic gesture of renowned legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, following the donation of the New Cruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.
Falana, who is the Founder of Kids & Teens Resource Centre, described Olanipekun’s investment in the health sector as a lasting legacy and a remarkable contribution to the community that nurtured him.
In a statement made available to journalists, Falana noted that the maternity complex would significantly improve maternal and child healthcare services in the area by reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, while also enhancing antenatal and postnatal care for nursing mothers.
According to him, “Chief Olanipekun’s contribution to strengthening the health sector is highly commendable and worthy of emulation. It reflects a deep commitment to giving back to the community through the provision of accessible healthcare services, especially for mothers and children.
“This gesture further demonstrates Chief Olanipekun’s enduring spirit of community service, alongside his numerous contributions to societal development through his distinguished legal career.”
Falana added that the donation stands as a noble act that posterity will continue to remember, while urging other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate such humanitarian efforts.
He emphasised the need for individuals to contribute their quota to the development of their immediate community and not always depend on the government.
