For Nigeria to experience an economic boom and achieve sustainable development across all sectors, the nation needs business-minded individuals in positions of power—leaders with thriving investments committed to nation-building.

This was the position of political icon and business mogul, Mr. Moyosola Niran-Oladunni, who expressed concern over the slow pace of Nigeria’s development, which he attributed to the dominance of individuals without personal career achievements or established businesses, found in the corridors of power.

According to him, such individuals rely solely on public funds for survival, a situation that fuels the misappropriation of resources meant for societal development and the welfare of the masses.

“If 95% of our politicians and government officials had businesses spread across the country, Nigeria would be a much better place to live. It would become almost like heaven on earth because no leader would allow the economy to collapse or stagnate, knowing it would hurt their own enterprises.”, he averred.

Niran-Oladunni, a one-term Gubernatorial aspirant in Ondo State cum Group Managing Chief Executive of CUBEGROUP, affirmed that leaders with personal investments would work towards economic stability and prosperity, ensuring policies favor sustainable growth.

He lamented that the current political space is dominated by what he called “nincompoop politicians”—individuals fixated on embezzlement, looting, and stashing public funds in foreign accounts—warning that Nigeria will continue to lag behind unless this mindset changes.

Niran-Oladunni added that, it is senseless for anyone to see politics solely as an avenue to amass wealth without having a personal source of income, saying, “Nigeria can never develop with this type of mentality or with nincompoops at the helm of affairs,”.
