BeMore Alumni reciprocate gesture, organise web design training for girls

..They’ve demonstrated to be truly ‘a special breed without greed’- Founder

About seven graduates of the BeMore Empowered Girls Foundation, under the umbrella of BeMore Sisters’ Network, have continued to demonstrate selfless service quality as seen in their quest to give back to the society that produced them.

Bemore Empowered foundation, is an initiative of the Wife of Ondo state Governor, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, founded in the year 2017 where girls are trained in Solar Technology, ICT and other life-enhancing skills at a two-week summer bootcamp.

The Bemore Sisters’ Network, which comprises girls from different sets of the summer bootcamp, however, initiated an end of the year free training in website and creative design for girls in Akure metropolis, as a means of replicating and transferring the knowledge they acquired to other girls.

The training programmme which was introduced last December, had about 15 girls enrolled for this year edition holding in Ijapo estate, Akure, the State capital.

The Team Leader of BeMore Sisters’ Network, Miss Bimbo Ogunsemore, hinted that the 4-days training programme was born out of their determination to reciprocate the gesture of the knowledge the Bemore Foundation instilled in them.

“At BeMore Summer Bootcamp, we were taught how to design and create a website, and Grandma (First Lady), has been motivating and encouraging us to be more and for the fact that she’s encouraging us makes me happy in continuing learning website and graphic design.

“Last year we did programming and grandma asked us to organise this year’s edition; today we are training them on introduction to HTML and CSS, we will teach them everything they need to know about building a website”. She asserted.

In her reaction, the Founder of the BeMore Empowered Foundation, Mrs. Akeredolu, commended them for sustaining the programme, which she described as an act of selflessness.

She said: “Members of BeMore Sisters’ Network have demonstrated that they are, indeed, “a special breed without greed”, proud of you!.”

The Ondo First Lady who later sent her Personal Assistant cum Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Administration, Mrs. Lizzy Akpan, to visit the girls, reaffirmed that the purpose of the Foundation was to ensure that every girl was groomed to be more in every aspect of life.

Briefing girls who are yet to participate in the two weeks summer bootcamp, Mrs. Akpan informed them that the ongoing free training they benefitted from, was a fruit of the summer bootcamp in form of giving back to the society by the Alumni.

“They formed themselves and agreed that they can give back to other girls what they have gained, and that’s why you are all here today. In Bemore camp, we train girls under that two weeks..if you go in as a plain girl you will come out as something fantastic; you will learn Solar installation, ICT and other skills “. She added.
