Wife of the Governor of Ondo State, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has emphasised the need for constant communication between couples to enhance sustainable marital journey.

Speaking as the Chairperson of the wedding reception between Oluwafemi Ojo and Oluwatobi Ogunyebi, held at
Canaanland event centre, Limson Road, Ojodu Lagos State, the Ondo First Lady admonished the newly-weds not to allow third party’s interference, their parents inclusive, rather utilise communication tool to sort out differences.

Appreciating the profession of the bride as a military officer which made the ceremony to observe special parade for the couple, Mrs. Akeredolu described it as an evidence that what a man can do, a woman can do even better, saying that “And what that connotes is female leadership”.

“Let me advise you as a couple, the journey of marriage ‘no be rice and beans’ let me confess to you; it’s never smooth nobody can ever claimed that the journey in marriage is smooth, it’s full of ups and downs”.

For them to have a smooth marital life, the Ondo First Lady, advised further that: ” You must have one powerful tool or skill and that is communication.  You should be able to talk to each other”.

She advised couples to settle misunderstandings among themselves rather than reporting to their parents. “You should be able to work out differences”, she added.

She, therefore, congratulated the couple and wished them a fruitful marital life.

In attendance included the wife of the deputy governor, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, and members of the Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees, FOWOSO.
