Ondo State Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele has assured board members of the State Civil Service Commission that his office would regularly engage the Commission in dialogue on all contentious issues in the performance of the overlapping statutory role for the upliftment and efficiency of the state civil service in line with the best practices.
Pastor Ogundele, who gave the assurance when he led some Accounting Officers of the Departments under his office on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the board at the conference hall of the Commission in Akure, the state capital, said his office and the Commission are two organizations of the government that must work harmoniously for the delivery of policies and programmes of the government in power.
He expressed gratitude to God and Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his appointment which he said was a call to higher responsibility that demands for more dedication and commitment to duty, saying that with the support of the Commission, the Public Servants and the experiences garnered over the years, the State public service would be transformed to an enviable height.

The Head of Service, whose visit to the Commission was the first official engagement outside his office, pledged unreserved cooperation with the Commission to enhance modern day and effective public service for quality service delivery to the people of the state.
In his remark, the Chairman of the board, Prince Ajose Kudehinbu congratulated Pastor Ogundele on his appointment as the number one Public Servant in the state and advised him to have constant interaction with the Commission as a major stakeholder in achieving efficiency of the state civil service.
Prince Kudehinbu highlighted some of the overlapping functions that require further discussion for mutual understanding to enhance the desired result in making the best of the civil service which include among others the review of the civil service regulatory books, recruitment, promotion of the Senior Management Officers, presentation of personnel budget and irregular appointment of Officers into the service.

Present at meeting are the four Commissioners in the board, Permanent Secretaries of Service Matters Department, Mr Jimmy Afolabi; Establishment and Training Department, Mrs, Olufunke Dare-atunse; Pension Transitional Department, Chief Dele Akinmoye and the Administrative Secretary, Public Service Reform Office, Mr Adewale Omomowo among others.
