@46: The New Ondo State is Here, Says Akeredolu

“We are moving forward with our agenda to birth a new Ondo State, with Ore Industrial Hub, the revitalization of most of the moribund companies where the State has interest, our zeal to get our Port Ondo declaration and our resolve to make our Local Government functional” .

Making this statement on Saturday was Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN at Ondo at 46 and Award ceremony organized by Nigeria Television Authority ( NTA ) and GroundBreaking Resources Limited.

The event was held at International Events Center, The Dome, Alagbaka Akure.

Equally at the event, Ondo State first lady, Chief ( Mrs ) Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu unveiled the GroundBreaker Magazine to the delight of everybody at the event.

Governor Akeredolu who was represented by his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the event further stressed that the State has grown from a “Civil service” State to one of the top Industrialized State in Nigeria.

“Ondo State is ranked 18th largest in Nigeria and has the longest coastline in Nigeria with the economy dominated by Petroleum industry in addition to Cocoa production, Asphalt, Minning and other activities” , he said.

Furthermore, Aiyedatiwa explained that despite shot fall in revenue generation and inheriting massive liabilities, Akeredolu Government is still forging ahead with a difference, and massive impact made on road infrastructures, agriculture, healthcare, education and many people-oriented projects earned Governor Akeredolu second term in office.

He therefore promised that Government would not take people trust for granted.

The governor applauded the organisers of the event, especially signposting on the 46 years of the creation of the state.

The Guest speaker, a Professor of Constitutional and Electoral law, Rasheed Ijadola SAN, lauded Governor Akeredolu for his focused leadership, calling for more disciplined leaders to take Nigeria to higher heights.

Ijadola also emphasized the need for youth to engage more in agriculture and improve on the educational standard of children.

Awards were given to eminent personalities including the Secretary to Ondo State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu and Special Adviser to Governor on Multi lateral and Intergovernmental Relations , Dr Bunmi Ademosun for their various contributions to the development of the Sunshine State.
