Ondo NSCDC parades suspects for illegal dealing in Petroleum products, others

The operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested one Babalola Shola aged 37 years residing at No 23 Freewealth Street, Orita-ojo Ore, Ondo State.
The arrest was made by the Anti vandal Squad of the Command on Sunday 14th March, 2021 around 1100hrs.

The Suspect and his driver were accousted enroute Ondo- Ore- Odigbo Road In a Mazda Bus without number plate. The Bus was conveying 88 Galons of 30 litres each of Automotive Gas Oil(AGO) -Diesel.

Although the driver is still at large, the Command will continue to work relentlessly in commitment to our Corps Mandate of Safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure as well as Anti-Vandalism. The Suspect will however be charged to court.

In the same vein the Command has arrested a Suspected fraudulent syndicate for offences ranging from Obtaining by false pretence, Stealing, money doubling and Cultism.

While parading the suspects on Monday 15tj March, 2021 the State Commandant, NSCDC Ondo Command; Commandant Eweka Edenabu Okoro said the two (2) Suspects named: Dapo Akinwumi (28 years) and Sunday Famaiye (27 years) were nabbed by the Counter terrorist Unit of the Command based on sustained Intelligence and credible Information. From their confessional statements the fraudulent syndicate operate across Arakale, Irowo, Odopetu, Ijomu and Isolo area in Akure. Their codename is ” Apadabo Alaaje”.

Investigation reveal that the suspects do hypnotize their victims, swindle them of fortunes and threaten their Victims not to confess their predicament or else they die. Thus, on Wednesday 10th March, 2021; Dapo Akinwumi, Sunday Famaiye and Omona Akerele being the third member of the syndicate currently at large did intercept the victim at Arakale area got his ATM Card and Handset. They later went to a Point of sales (POS) and withdrew the sum of Five Hundreds and Seventeen Thousand Naira (#517,000) in an account belonging to an old woman.
Investigation is still ongoing and all suspects arrested would definitely be prosecuted in the law Court.

The State Commandant reiterated that NSCDC Ondo State Command is wholeheartedly committed to eradicating crime in Ondo State.
He further adviced all Criminal minded persons to relocate outside the State or face the full wrath of the law.
