Ondo Health Commissioner laid to rest amidst tears

The remains of late Commissioner for health in Ondo State, Dr Wahab Adegbenro has been laid to rest at his Ilara- Mokin home town in Ifedore local government area of the state.

The speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly and indigene of the area, Bamidele Oleyelogun as well as members of the state Executive council attended the brief and emotionally laden ceremony.

The Chief Imam of Akure Mosque, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi Akorede led a terse graveside prayers before the remains of late Adegbenro was interred, and supervised by officials of the Nigerian Center for Disease Control, NCDC despite the surging crowd.

Alhaji Akorede later presided over a short Service where he eulogized the late medical doctor as a remarkable philanthropist as well as led prayers for the repose of his son.

His wives, children, family members of the deceased attended the burial ceremony.

Mr Oleyelogun, the Commissioner for economic planning and Budget, Emmanuel Igbasan, his works counterpart, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye and the permanent secretary, Ministry of health, Dr Dipo Durojaye paid glowing tributes to the memory of Adegbenro.
