#Ondo2020: Akeredolu ‘ll break jinx of 2nd term in Northern zone- Aide

A Special Assistant to Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Political Mobilisation and Strategy, Mr. Olusola Okun expressed his readiness to mobilise aggressively towards the reelection of his principal.

Okun who disclosed that efforts were ongoing in his Ose Local government area to embrace members towards ensuring that Akeredolu emerge APC party’s flagbearer for the October 10 Guber poll, said the governor was in the better stead to move the state forward considering the solid foundations of developmental projects he had laid.

Speaking with JATS News as part of supportive campaign strategies for the re-election of the governor, Okun noted that the governor had performed creditably well to deserve second term ticket.

He emphasised the reason for the party members to be united and support his candidacy in order not to lose the race to the opposing parties come October 10, 2020 election.

He affirmed that his local government, especially the Irekari axis, had a fair share of Political appointees under the Akeredolu-led administration compared to the previous administrations; and thereby assured of his commitment to ensure that the governor break the jinx of second term in the Northern zone of the state.

Commenting on the insinuation in some quarters of Ose Local government that he might not work for the reelection of the governor as he did in 2012, and 2016, Olusola Okun avowed his unalloyed support, saying, “There is no reason for me to do that, no reasonable person will leave certainty for uncertainty, I’m sure that the AKETI 4+4 is a done deal and divine proclamation”.

According to him, Ondo State had enjoyed absolute peace under the leadership of Governor Akeredolu, especially in the area of installation of new Kings, citing Owo, Imoru, Okeluse and a lot of others in the Southern Senatorial district, noting that they were all carried out seamlessly without any crisis or rancor, unlike before.

On the internal crisis of the party and its effects on the chance of APC during the forthcoming elections in the state, Akeredolu’s aide opined that it was normal to have political differences, but party’s interest should prevail over individual’s.

He said: “We must put sentiment apart and join hands together to see that Akeredolu emerged as the flagbearer of APC so that we will not give it away to other political party because they are hanging around to see how the disunity brought about by the Unity Forum could affect the fortune of APC”.

The SA Political Mobilisation, however, affirmed that moves were ongoing to embrace all the aggrieved members of the party, saying governor cannot satisfy the interest of all the party members at the detriment of the state, hence, the need to make them understand and support him for the second time.

Okun lauded Akeredolu’s giant strides in developing the state and for the renovation of schools in Ose.

He appealed to his people in Ose, especially Irekari communities to reciprocate the gesture by returning him to the government house for another four years.
