Akure/Ado road wears new look as FG intervenes

An end has come to the stress and pains which motorists encounter while plying Akure-Ado road due to the badly damaged condition of the road, as men of the Federal Agency for Road Maintenance, FERMA had moved in their equipment and commenced work on the road.

Briefing JATS Online News, the FERMA Engineer in charge of Ondo State field office, Engr. Monday Usman affirmed that work commenced on the road in December 2019 upon the approval of Federal Government, and is expected to cover up four kilometer in the first instance, starting from Akure.

He stated that the federal government was fully in charge of the rehabilitation through FERMA, and not the governments of Ondo and Ekiti state states.

Engr Usman was therefore, optimist that the road would be completed and available for use by February.

He said: “Some sections from the beginning through Ado garage down to glory land junction and beyond have been completed and is been put to use by motorists/Road users.


“Apart from repairing of failed sections of the road, we are also patching potholes both with asphalt, we are equally constructing reinforced concrete lined drains from Glory Land back to Ado garage at left hand side of the road”.
