Martins Fasusi, Okitipupa

A class teacher, Ebenezer Adeyeye, who allegedly defiled a 5-year-old pupil, has been remanded in prison custody by the Okitipupa Magistratesโ€™ Court.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr Ogunfuyi, ordered his remand pending the outcome of the legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.

Ebenezer, who was a teacher at Gospel Faith Mission international (GOFAMINT) Nursery/ Primary School was reported to have committed the offence during the school hour by luring the victim to the school toilet before forcefully having the canal knowledge of her.

The prosecutor, Inspt. Ayodeji Omoyegha informed the court of how the case was reported at the police station by the girlโ€™s parents. He said the accused was later arrested for further questioning.

โ€ The charge sheet read in part, โ€œThat you, Ebenezer Adeyeye ( m) on the November 7, 2018 at about 11:30am at Gospel Faith Mission International ( GOFAMINT) Nursery/ Primary school compound, Okitipupa, did indecently and unlawfully assaulted one Sheile Juliet (f), a 5-year-old pupil of the above named school where you are a teacher, by forcefully having canal knowledge of her without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Volume. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
