The Ondo State secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Ibini Oyedele has said that the presidential flagbearer of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has respect for the rule of law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria unlike the All Progressives Congress who has not given room for same in the way and manner in which the party govern the nation.

According to him, this is evident in the primary election processes that led to the emergence of the candidates for the 2019 general elections of both parties.

He therefore called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure that the 2019 general elections is free and fair as done by former President Goodluck Jonathan who accepted defeat rather than manipulating the results of the elections in his favour being the incumbent.

Oyedele who said this during an interview with justambitioustoserve. com also warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to thread softly and not to drag the name of the commission in the mud by allowing rigging.

According to him, the Presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is capable of leading the country being a leader that has regards for the rule of law with vast experience.

“We are calling on the federal government to make sure that the election is free and fair, if our President Buhari loses the elections, he should go, that will be more honorable for him than to rig, as for me the man doesn’t want those things, it is those people under him that are doing it, but he should caution them”, he said.

He noted that the primary elections that produced the PDP candidates were transparent and serve as an evidence of true democracy which the party will bring in if elected.

“Our candidate in PDP has transversed in every field of endeavour, he is a man who believes in the rule of law, the present administration doesn’t have regard for the rule of law.

” I will urge the whole Nigerians to vote enmass for Atiku, he is a grassroots man, a seasoned politician, successful business man, is a man Nigeria needs in this critical period”, he added.
