The Ondo state Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), has declared the councillorship candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, for Ikun Akoko ward 9 in Akoko Southwest local government area, Adefariti Olasehinde, winner of yesterday’s council election in the state.

According to an ODIEC returning officer, Mr James Gbiri, ADC candidate polled 458votes to beat the APC candidate Kehinde Obasanmi scored 301votes.

The declaration yesterday was witnessed by security operatives in the town.

Amidst jubilating residents, a leader of ADC in Ikun Akoko Mr Monday Alege Moses warned against manipulating the result already announced officially by ODIEC, adding that any change in the name of the winner could lead to mass protest and post election violence in the town.
