A former Vice-President in Nigeria,Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has emerged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after a keenly contested primary at the National Convention of the party held at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium, Igwuruta-Ali, Port Harcourt.

Atiku wins PDP Presidential ticket with 1532 votes to defeat Tambuwal who was initially in the lead until the turn of events.
