A woman has been arrested by the ondo state police command for allegedly inflicting injuries on a boy(name withheld) for stealing meat from a pot of soup.

The police arrested the suspect following a trending video on social media where there were several lacerations on the boy.

The incident was said to have happened at Adebowale area of Akure, the state capital.

As a result of the injuries inflicted on the hapless boy, blood was seen gushing out from his body in the video.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed this development.

She said the case would be transferred to the criminal investigation department on Monday.

In the meantime, the boy has been taken to police clinic in Akure where he is currently receiving treatment.
