Ondo Council of Oba: NUJ Congratulates Deji of Akure

The Leadership and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council have congratulated one of our Royal Patrons and Deji of Akure Kingdom, Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi on his appointment as the Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

In a Press Statement signed by the NUJ Chairman, Adetona Aderoboye and the State Secretary, Leke Adegbite, the Union described Oba Aladetoyinbo as a Peace loving, Progressive and Media friendly foremost monarch who deserves to lead the State Traditional institution.

Ondo NUJ observes with delight the decision of Governor Akeredolu to appoint a vibrant and energetic Royal father to head the Council of Obas at this critical time when the traditional institution is needed to rally support for government in tackling security challenges facing the nation.

The Journalists’ Union equally notes with appreciation to Almighty God that the reign of Oba Aladetoyinbo in the last six years has brought unprecedented peaceful co-existence and rapid development to Akure as the State Capital.

The Statement therefore appeals to Kabiyesi Oba Aladetoyinbo to use his two new appointments as the Chairman, Ondo state Council of Obas and as the Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, to entrench love and fairness among traditional rulers in the Sunshine State.

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had approved the appointment of Oba Aladetoyinbo on Tuesday 15th Sept, 2021 as the Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas.

Oba Aladelusi’s appointment follows the expiration of the two-year single tenure of the immediate past Chairman of the council, Oba (Dr.) Fredrick Eniolorunda Obateru Akinruntan, Olugbo of Ugbo, who was appointed on the 13th September, 2019.
