RE: NHIS ENROLMENT FOR RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS

This is to inform all retired Police Officers resident within Zone 17 ( Ondo and Ekiti state) who were not captured in the 1st phase of the enrolment exercise, that the 2nd phase of registration and capturing for all retired Officers into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) will kick off on Monday, 22nd March, 2021 – Thursday, 25th March, 2021.

This is in line with the IGPs resolve to ensure that retired Police Officers benefits from the Health Insurance scheme and other welfare packages of the Force, no matter their rank at retirement .

This enrolment is aimed at ensuring that no retired Police officer (including his/her spouse), anywhere in the country, is left out from having full access to all NHIS services and benefits covered by the Police Health Maintenance Organization (Police-HMO) Code-073.

The exercise is scheduled to take place in all Area Commands within the Zone and all retired Police officers (each with a spouse), who were not captured during the 1st phase of the exercise are enjoined to visit any Police Area Command closest to them within the Zone (Ondo or Ekiti State) with their Letter of Retirement and Retiree’s I.D Card.

Retired Police Officers living within the states under the command of Zone 17 and are yet to be captured in the Scheme, are urged to take optimum advantage of the 2nd phase of the exercise which will avail them with affordable healthcare services in retirement.

It is pertinent to state that the Police is passionate about the welfare of its personnel in retirement and the leadership of the Force will continue to do all within its powers, in collaboration with relevant State Actors and Institutions, to address all pending issues surrounding the general welfare of our esteemed senior citizens who undoubtedly dedicated their youthful days and energy to serve the nation and humanity.

Note: The registration and services provided under this scheme is absolutely free without any form of deduction whatsoever from retirees’ monthly pension.
