Wonders shall never end! There was pandemonium yesterday in Ikare-Akoko when some chiefs foiled the attempt of the Police to arrest parents of Late Miss Testimony Babalola who was allegedly beaten to death by her father a few days ago.

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo state chapter had unravelled the circumstances surrounding the death of the girl through the help of the Parish Priest of Mary Queen of Angels church, where the mother of the girl used to attend.

This investigation by NAWOJ had, however, made the Parish Priest to invite men of the Nigerian Police force to arrest the parents, who had absconded to Ikare to hide.

Due to the inability of the Police officers in B-Division to apprehend the father who was still in Akure as at Friday afternoon, but later disappeared to Ikare to join his wife, having sensed that the Police were after him, the officers in Ikare division were then contacted to carry out the arrest.

Meanwhile, information from the State Commissioner of Police later revealed that some Chiefs in the community gathered around the parents of the girl and prevented their arrest.

They however informed the Commissioner of Police that two of them, (Chief) would lead them to the Police headquarters, Akure on Monday for a reason best known to them.
