..as the APC aspirant unveils youth, women Empowerment plans

A leading aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Akure North/ Akure South Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo, has received a significant boost to his ambition following a strong support from leaders across Akure North and Akure South Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

The support was announced at a meeting on Wednesday where stakeholders of the APC and leaders from both Akure North and Akure South threw their weight behind Hon. Fadairo, expressing confidence in his ability to provide effective representation and drive grassroots development for the Federal Constituency.

Leaders at the stakeholders meeting include: Hon. Akin Adeniyi, a former two-term member of the Ondo State House of Assembly; Chief Isaac Ayeyemi
Prince Aladesaye Yemisi, Elder Nathaniel Babalola, Elder Ladi Falemu and Hon Oluwole Fanibuyan.

Others include: Prince Tony Ala, Hon. Idowu Otetubi, Hon. Dele Faboro, Hon Sunday Kekereowo and Elder Michael Olusanya Ojuola among several other prominent leaders from both Akure North and Akure South.

The Leaders described Hon Fadairo as a credible and accessible figure with a track record of engaging youths, women, elders, community development and supporting local initiatives.

They explained that his emergence, if elected, would bring renewed focus to infrastructural development and social welfare in Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders in Akure North, the Chairman of Akure North LGA, Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude described Hon Fadairo as a dependable ally and seasoned grassroots politician who distinguished himself during his tenure as Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement (Central) to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Ogunbolude stressed the need for unity between Akure North and Akure South, noting that the constituency requires a representative with deep understanding of local dynamics and the capacity to deliver results.

“We believe Akure North and Akure South are one. What matters now is who understands the terrain and can represent us effectively. it is also about who will not disappoint us and bring the needed development to our constituency.

“Fadairo is my brother. We have both been in this struggle and trenches together. His doors had always been open. We are both members of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s political school of thought. He has been tested and he didn’t failed us,” he said.

Also speaking, Akin Adeniyi, a former two-term member of the Ondo State House of Assembly from Akure North LGA, urged Hon. Fadairo to emulate the legacies of past leaders who served the constituency with distinction, stressing that leadership must be anchored on service, integrity, and accountability.

In Akure South, the party leaders led by Prince Tony Ala described Fadairo as “tested and trusted,” describing him as a tested grassroots mobiliser with a people-oriented approach to politics.

He expressed great confidence in the aspiration of the APC aspirant, especially his ability to deliver quality representation at the National Assembly if elected.

“Fadairo is a great son of the soil. We know his parents and particularly his mother has contributed immensely to the development of this town. We are giving him our full support because he won’t disappoint if given the opportunity and elected as the representative of Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency,” Prince Ala said.

Similarly, Hon. Idowu Otetubi, one of the prominent leaders in Akure South, noted that the constituency stands to benefit from Fadairo’s experience and exposure, particularly in legislative administration and governance.

Responding, Hon. Fadairo expressed deep appreciation for the supports, describing them as a “strong vote of confidence” that would further strengthen his resolve to serve the people.

He maintained that his aspiration was not driven by personal ambition but by the collective call of the people, assuring the leaders and stakeholders that he would justify the trust reposed in him if elected.

The APC aspirant recall his experience as a former Director of Administration in the Senate, noting that it has equipped him with the necessary knowledge of legislative processes and governance to effectively represent the constituency.

Highlighting his development agenda for the constituency, Hon. Fadairo promised to prioritise youths and women empowerment through skill acquisition programmes, job creation initiatives, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.

He further pledged to attract meaningful projects to the constituency, particularly in the areas of road infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare for the young and elderly, promote grassroots sporting activities, transparent representation, and impactful lawmaking if elected into the National Assembly.

“I am deeply honoured by this overwhelming show of support from our leaders and stakeholders across Akure North and Akure South. This support has strengthened my determination because it reflects the collective will of our people.

“Leadership is about delivering results. I assure you that I will not disappoint. We will create opportunities for our youths, women, empower our farmers, and ensure balanced development across the constituency. We will also carry our leaders along and respect their contributions at all times,” he said.

The leading APC aspirant further pledged to pursue transparent and impactful lawmaking, initiate progressive policies that would uplift all segments of society, and ensure that the voices of the constituents are adequately represented at the National Assembly.

Fadairo added that his campaign would remain issue-based, inclusive, and people-driven, promising to prioritise consultations with constituents as part of efforts to deliver responsive and accountable representation.

He, however, reiterated his commitment to placing the needs of the people at the centre of his legislative agenda if elected in the 2027 general election.
