Over 500 widows, elderly persons, and other vulnerable individuals on Tuesday, 31st March, 2026, benefited from the 22nd edition of the Monisola Adeniyan Eddo Foundation outreach held in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The annual event, spearheaded by Hon. (Princess) Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, is organised in honour of her late mother, Mrs. Monisola Adeniyan Eddo, whose legacy of compassion and service continues to inspire positive change in society.

Speaking at the event, the Akure Princess appreciated guests and beneficiaries for their presence and support, emphasising that the outreach is driven by a genuine desire to give back to society rather than mere tradition

“This programme is not a ritual but a good deed to better the lives of others, and we are committed to sustaining it. We are celebrating the life and values of my mother by sharing with others, not because we have so much, but because we care,” she said.

Also present at the event was Dr. Olu Eddo, the Sasere of Akure Kingdom, who spoke on behalf of the family, noting that the initiative was not politically motivated but rooted in service. He described Princess Omowunmi as a compassionate and accessible leader dedicated to the welfare of her people.
He added that her consistent efforts in community service underscore her capacity for greater responsibility in public service.

A major highlight of the event was the distribution of various gift items to beneficiaries, particularly widows and the elderly, many of whom expressed gratitude for the timely support.

The event also featured a raffle draw session where winners received gifts ranging from gas cylinders, portable fans, sets of pots, and big coolers, among others.
Notable personalities at the event included leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as members of the Eddo and Adeniyan families.

The outreach continues to stand out as a symbol of sustained philanthropy and community support, with beneficiaries drawn from diverse groups, including Christian and Muslim communities, Non-Governmental Organizations, and People Living With Disabilities (PWDs), positively impacting lives across Akure and beyond.
