The wife of the Olubaka of Oka-Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Olori Adejumoke Adeleye, has been honoured with the prestigious Olori of the Year award (Queen of the Year) by Sunshine Standard Magazine in recognition of her virtues, vision, and service to humanity.
The award was conferred on her on Sunday, March 1, 2026, during a colourful ceremony attended by dignitaries and well-wishers from across Ondo State. The event was held at the OSDPC Multipurpose Hall, Ijapo, Akure.
Highlighting the exceptional attributes that qualified Olori Adejumoke for the award, the organiser, Mr Oludaisi Adetarami, affirmed that her sterling qualities, expressed through elegance, charity, and visionary initiatives, set her apart among her peers in the state.

According to him, Olori Adeleye has distinguished herself through initiatives such as her annual Christmas carol and children’s funfair party, touching the lives of many vulnerable children in Oka Kingdom and uplifting the ancient town.
In his words: “Olori Adejumoke Adeleye shines as a paragon of grace, wisdom, and compassion. Her harmonious interfaith marriage exemplifies unity, love, and respect.
“Enterprising, prayerful, and cerebral, Olori Adejumoke is a beacon of hope and a role model for generations. Her legacy of service, faith, and humanity continues to catalyse peace, progress, and development”.
Speaking at the event as Royal Father of the Day, the Olubaka of Oka Kingdom, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON, COP, expressed profound joy and gratitude over the honour bestowed on his wife.
The monarch, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation and Akogun of Oka-Akoko, Hon. Chief Gbenga Omole, described the recognition as not only personal to the Olori but also a celebration of the entire Oka Kingdom, noting that by honouring her, the organisers had honoured the people of the kingdom.

“This recognition is not just personal; it is communal. It reflects the values, traditions, and aspirations of our people,” he said.
He commended the organisers, Sunshine Standard Magazine, for promoting excellence and celebrating individuals who contribute positively to society.
Responding to the honour, Olori Adejumoke Adeleye described the award as unexpected, significant, and gratifying, saying that being recognised as Olori of the Year among hundreds of queens in Ondo State is a call to do more in promoting humanity.
Appreciating the organisers for the gesture, she dedicated the award to her late father, Prince Benjamin Abiodun Daudu.
She averred that if her father, a retired headmaster who hailed from Ipe-Akoko, had not raised her well by instilling in her the virtue of service to humanity, she would not have become who she is today.

Her choice for the honour was justified by dignitaries, including sons and daughters of Oka-Akoko Kingdom, who testified to her impeccable character and significant contributions to the development of their community, which they described as one of its kind in the history of Oloris in Ondo State.
In his tribute, a prominent son of the soil and Director of Media and Corporate Communications at the National Space Research and Development Agency, Mr Felix Ale, affirmed that Olori Adejumoke Adeleye has added immense value to the throne of Oka Kingdom, supporting her husband with loyalty, love, and prayer.
In his words: “Olori Adejumoke Adeleye’s introduction of the Annual Christmas Carol and Children’s Funfair in Oka-Akoko, the first to be introduced by any Olori in the Sunshine State, has become a cherished tradition, bringing joy to children, families, and the entire community.

“Through this initiative, countless children have benefited, homes have been uplifted, and smiles have been restored to many faces.
“The beautiful wife of the Olubaka is a pride to the womenfolk, a jewel of royalty, and a blessing to humanity. Her charisma, compassion, and commitment to community development justify her nomination and conferment of this prestigious award.”
For Princess Adelola, Prince Adedeji Adeleye, and Princess Temitope, her steadfast devotion to the growth, unity, and noble heritage of Oka-Akoko continues to inspire admiration and strengthen the legacy of the throne.
