The Ondo State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the recent attack in Woro community, Kwara State, which claimed innocent lives and disrupted peace in the area.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, the state described the incident as painful and disturbing, noting that it underscores the security challenges confronting parts of the country.
Ondo State Government condoled the Government and people of Kwara State, particularly Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the affected families and residents of Woro community. It assured them of Ondo State’s solidarity at this difficult time.
The government also prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the attack, while asking God to grant comfort, strength and healing to the bereaved families. It further wished those injured a speedy and full recovery.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity and collective action against all forms of violence, the Ondo State Government stressed that such acts must not be allowed to undermine national cohesion and the safety of communities.
The state also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the prompt deployment of a battalion of military personnel to the affected areas to restore peace and security.
