The Ondo State Government has set up a high-level committee to engage striking magistrates, Presidents of Grade ‘A’ Customary Courts and members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in a bid to resolve their grievances and restore industrial harmony in the state’s judiciary.
The committee, made up of top government officials, has already commenced work and is actively engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure a speedy return of normalcy to the judicial system.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Idowu Ajanaku, who said the government remains committed to addressing all outstanding issues through a fair, sustainable and mutually acceptable framework.
He assured residents of the state that the matter is receiving urgent attention and that a lasting solution will soon be reached.
Mr Ajanaku also appealed to all parties involved to exercise restraint and avoid unnecessary media exchanges, urging them instead to embrace dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding in the overall interest of justice and public service.
