..CALLS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOL PERIMETER FENCE

In order to ensure effective teaching and learning in Ondo State public Secondary Schools, the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) embarked on a monitoring tour to the public Secondary Schools across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

The Monitoring Officials who were grouped in three separate teams have the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Oluwadaisi Oke in company of the Commissioner II, Mrs Titilayo Fayoriju and Dr. Gabriel Fakinlede, Director, planing, Research and Statistics and other Officers of the Commission as a team for the monitoring of the public  Secondary Schools in Ondo Central Senatorial district.

While Commissioner I, Hon. Ajani Oladipo led another team to the Ondo South Senatorial district, Commissioner III and IV,  of the Commission, Mrs Ojuolape Aderemi and Alhaji Isiaka Usman as well as the Administrative Secretary of the Commission, Mrs Morayo Bayo-Philip and other Officers of the Commission equally led separate monitoring team to Ondo North Senatorial district of the State to ensure quality and effective teaching and learning in the public Secondary Schools across the State.

The Monitoring and inspection exercise which afforded the newly appointed Chairman and Board Members of the Commission to familiarized themselves with the State public Secondary School Officers and their activities also enabled the Commission to observe and ensure teachers preparedness for the  second term 2025/2026 academic session.

Addressing School Officers, the TESCOM Chairman, Dr. Oluwadaisi Oke, charged teachers to redouble their efforts to promote effective teaching and learning in the State public Secondary Schools in tandem with the global best practices.

Dr. Oke who highlighted some of the developmental projects put in place  by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the comfortability of teachers and to  improve academic standard in the State public Secondary education sector, being part of his priorities in “OUR EASE” agenda for the State including the renovation of the Ondo State Teaching Service Commission’s Office complex in Akure.

She charged teachers not to relent in their efforts in  imparting thorough academic knowledge and skills into the children for they are the glory of the parents and the State, noting that teachers were responsible for the training of all other professionals, and education, being the bedrock is central to the development of the State.

While expressing her satisfaction on the attendance and punctuality of teachers during the resumption of Schools in the State, the TESCOM Boss assured teachers that the newly constituted Board through the Ondo State Government was ready to give them all the support needed, saying that the present Board members are seasoned Educators who understood the terrain and ready to promote their well-being.

Her words: “This is a new year. I want to charge you all to do better than last year. Let’s follow the rules and ethics of education which point towards accountability and efficiency in imparting knowledge and discipline in our students, so that the academic standard of the students can be redefined.

“Once you have done the right thing, such as writing your lesson notes, keeping your records up to date, and teaching the Students at the right time, you have nothing to fear.” Dr. Oluwadaisi Oke reiterated.

Dr. Oke who observed that some of the Public Secondary Schools visited were without perimeter fence to prevent unlawful entry and encroachment of certain individuals into Schools landed property, called for timely construction of the school’s perimeter fence saying the situation needed urgent attention for safety and security of Students and School properties.

Some of the Schools visited included Ejioba High School, Oba-Ile; Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure; Idanre High School, Alade-Idanre; and Olofin Anglican Grammar School, Idanre, Imade College, Owo,  A.U.D Grammar School, Ikare, Odigbo High School, Odigbo; Morubodo Grammar School, Ilutitun; Ofedepe High School, Okitipupa; and Muslim High School, Ore amongst others.
