Plans have reached an advanced stage for the celebration of the Igoke Agba Ceremony (Induction into the Elders’ Council) of the Egbe Mabolaje age group of Oka-Akoko Kingdom in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria.

The event, scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Olubaka’s Palace Grounds, marks the traditional admission of members of the age group into the revered Elders’ Council of the community.

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Yusuf Adebori Adeleye (OON), the Olubaka of Oka-Akoko Kingdom and a member of the age group, expressed gratitude to God for granting him the grace to witness the ceremony.

He noted that although he has automatically been a member of the Elders’ Council since ascending the throne 37 years ago, the forthcoming ceremony remains symbolic and memorable.

The event will also feature the installation of two prominent Nigerians as Chiefs in Oka-Akoko, adding prestige to the celebration.

Sons and daughters of Oka land, both at home and in the diaspora, as well as friends of the community, are expected to join the Olubaka in celebrating this significant traditional rite.

The ceremony marks a milestone for the monarch, and for the grace to witness his age group  Igoke Agba rite while on the throne.

While the Olubaka’s guests will be hosted at the palace, other members of the age group will hold their reception parties at various locations across the community.
